2020 lists & 2019 results

As of this writing (12.31.19 - 6 pm) there is no clear winner for 2019.  We have a 3 way tie - each with only 2 names.  Not even worth mentioning who they are.  I could swing a dead cat over a copy or 'People magazine' and get better results.

I have been corrected.  According to everyone but me, Julie has won. Here is what Roy sent, which i reproduce faithfully.  As for Julz email to me, not sure.  As we are no longer talking.

Julie had the youngest for a point bonus and the oldest for  a point bonus. I figure she was at 68 points.  MJ wins again. 

I expect more from all y'al!   In fact, I am willing to temporarily suspend the 'Malibu Julz' clause.  That clause states, as you know, you can't get points for any celebrity you personally kill.  That rule is out the window for 2020.  Now get to killin', you pussies!

Hey folks, the year is quickly coming to a close and it is time to get those dead pool candidate lists together.

What is it we are talking about?

A celebrity dead pool for the year 2018. (Please feel free to forward to whomever you think might also want to play.)

The 18th year of this fine event is just around the corner. Start making your list of names now and take part in this wholesome past-time that lasts the whole year.

Submit 11 names of folks that will die in 2018.

The first ten count, the 11th is an alternate.

Can't Get Crap Together Rule:  
Late submissions through January will be accepted, however only 8 names count.

The Rules:

Any deaths must be recorded by an Associated Press biography or an announcement from CelebrityDeathBeeper.com

All entries must be received by 12/31/17 at midnight. In the event
that a name on your list dies between 12/31/17 midnight and 1/01/18
12:01 the alternate name on your list moves on to the list.  (Can't Get Crap Together Rule:  
Late submissions through January will be accepted, however, only 8 names count.)


Points are awarded for the following:

Age of the dead (oldest- least points * youngest -most points.)
Oldest 4 points
Youngest 6 points

Active deaths
First corpse - 4 points
Last corpse - 5 points

Most names on the list - 18 points per list.

Suicide - 10 points

Under 65 - 4 points

Under 55 - 4 points (in addition to the under 65 points awarded.)

If you personally kill a celebrity to increase your point scoring,
you are disqualified.

(The Schiavo Clause.)
No points for any deaths whose only act of dying made them famous. this means the oldest man or woman alive won't get points. It also means that a famous illness to an otherwise stranger, resulting in a death wouldn't count as a celebrity dead pool death.

First Blood 2017

This year has been so much gentler than last year for celebrity deaths.  It is April, and we just got our first corpse.  Mr Warmth has passed away at 90.  That is a damn good run!  Most importantly, first points go to Kevin.  Eat that, Julz!

It is that hallowed time of the year to start gathering names again.  Quick refresher on the rules - before Jan 1, 2017 send me a list of 10 celebrities who you think will die in 2017.  Tie breakers go to age of deceased.  Meaning - predicting a 98 year old will die is not as impressive as guessing a 27 year old.

It has to be a celebrity.  What constitutes a 'celebrity', original house rules stated the Associated Press had to publish their obit.  However, I am going to make an executive decision to move us into the 21st century - person has to have a Wiki page.
