 The Queen is dead!  Long live the Queen!

Dateline Sept 8th 2022

Yes, she lost most of the land mass of the 'United Kingdom'... but it was just giving these countries back:  Africa and India were handed back by 1950, along with "Three dozen Asian states".  Don't worry, the Brits kept all their cool shit.  Wanna travel the world without leaving a city?  Go see the museums in Britain.  She was a bad ass and served in WW2.  Not in some ceremonial honorary BS way, either.  She was a mechanic!  Have mad respect for her.  AND... she was on my list... which softens the blow.  Historian's note - Elizabeth didn't take the crown until 1952, as an intra-umbilical fetus.  So, it's not technically her fault.

United Kingdom... isn't that adorable?  It is not much of a 'kingdom' anymore.  Kingdom now sounds like a term Steven Segal would declare himself as to avoid taxes with Wesley Snipes.  They have the land mass of about Arizona now.  I am not counting Canada, either.  But, I bet they do.  Ok horse face, you're up!  In case your counting, Charles has been the official heir since he was 3 years old.  This one's for you,  King Chuckles

A sad and interesting note as we head into 2022.  We found out just this afternoon (Friday, Dec 31st) that we lost American treasure Betty White.  She had been all over the news lately doing press.  This is because her 100th birthday is was next week.

That is the sad part, not the interesting part.  Here is the interesting part.  I received all of these lists before today.  None of them, mine included, had Betty White's name down. *** Yet, 3 folks had her down on their 2021 lists.  Points for them!  I guess we took her for granted, that she would never leave us.  Betty was literally older than sliced bread!

Here is you to, Ms White!  God speed to you on your next adventure!

2022 submissions now open

We are now accepting lists for 2022.  This is not a closed group, or a financial gambling group.  You don't even have to know us to join.  My wife says this is a terrible and sick hobby.  I explain I don't kill anyone (its literally part of the rules, check out the bylaws under 'Malibu Julz'.  So, if you participate in this 'thing of ours', does it make you a terrible person?  Yes.  Yes it does.   Funny thing, though.  When a prominent celeb dies, the wifey asks 'did you have him on your list?'  Does that not make her just as complicit?  Yes.  Yes it does.

In closing, being in this group for at least the last ten years has had an odd side effect.  The way I almost always find out a significant celeb has died...  I don't find out on CNN or TMZ.  I get texts that say "did you have Bob Dole on your list?"  That is all the say, not even mentioning they passed.  I remember the most significant example of this.... I remember where I was and what I was doing when a beloved old employee of mine texts me 'did you have Amy Winehouse on your list?'    Man, my heart sunk to hear that news.

and for the record, you bet your ass I did.  She was a rock star, drug addict, and (the biggest tell of all)...  she was turning 27.

Death himself, Mitch McConnell wanted to pop in and personally congratulate Roy.

For 2020, we have our host, Roy, as the big winner.  5 names!  5 names is incredible, and many a year have gone down where only 2 or 3 names was enough to take home the title.  Who did Roy have for last year?  Kirk Douglas, Carl Reiner, Olivia de Haviland, Vera Lynn, Chuck Yeager
